What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are one of several ways a site can store information on the device you are reading it with, and under UK law it is that storing and reading, rather than measurement in the abstract, that requires your consent.

Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary

Crownbot itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build a profile of your browsing. The only storage we use without asking is the technical storage needed to load the site, to keep a chat conversation open while you are on the page, and to remember the analytics choice you make below, so that we do not ask you again on every visit.

Google Analytics, Only If You Agree

We ask, on your first visit, whether we may use Google Analytics. It stores cookies named _ga and _ga_* on your device to recognise a returning browser, which is why we have to ask rather than assume.

If you decline, or simply never answer, nothing is requested from Google at all: the script is not loaded, no cookie is set, and your IP address is never sent to them. If you accept and later change your mind, we stop and delete those cookies. You can change your answer at any time using the button at the bottom of this page.

Booking a Call

If you open the booking widget, Cal.com loads in a window on this page and sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. That only happens once you choose to book. Nothing from Cal.com loads until then.

How We Measure Use of This Site

We use Plausible Analytics to count how many people visit, which pages they read, and which links they follow. We use it because we would otherwise be guessing at whether this website is any use to the people who arrive on it.

It was chosen specifically because of what it does not do:

• It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, nothing is written, and nothing already there is read.
• It assigns you no identifier. It cannot recognise you on a later visit, and it cannot follow you to any other website.
• It stores no personal data. Your IP address and browser are used momentarily to work out whether a request is a new visitor, then discarded; neither is retained or logged.
• Everything we can see is a count: how many people did something, never who. There is no way for us to look up an individual visit.
• The data is processed on servers in the EU, and is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for advertising of any kind.

Why There Is No Cookie Banner

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, your consent is required before a site stores information on your device or reads information already stored there. Our analytics does neither, and we set no non-essential cookies of our own, so there is nothing here for you to consent to. We would rather not ask you to dismiss a banner that exists only for the sake of appearing careful.

If that ever changes, if we adopt a tool that does store something on your device, a consent gate goes in first, and this page changes with it.

Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or delete certain cookies. However, please note that if you block or delete cookies, some features of our website may not function properly.

Third-Party Services

Two third parties can set a cookie on this site, and neither does so silently. Cal.com sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy, but only once you open the booking widget; it processes the name, email address and any notes you enter when booking. Google Analytics sets cookies only if you have agreed to it above, and is not contacted at all otherwise. Plausible Analytics receives a request from your browser on each page you view, but sets no cookie and retains no personal data, so it runs for everyone and needs no consent. We use no advertising or retargeting service, and no Google Tag Manager container.

Your Choice

You can change your mind at any time, and it takes one click. Declining also deletes any Google Analytics cookies already stored on this device.
