What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are one of several ways a site can store information on the device you are reading it with, and under UK law it is that storing and reading, rather than measurement in the abstract, that requires your consent.

Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary Only

Crownbot sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We set no cookies that require your consent, and we do not build a profile of your browsing. The only local storage this site uses is the technical storage needed to load the site itself and to keep a chat conversation open while you are on the page.

Booking a Call

If you open the booking widget, Calendly loads in a window on this page and sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. That only happens once you choose to book. Nothing from Calendly loads until then.

How We Measure Use of This Site

We use Plausible Analytics to count how many people visit, which pages they read, and which links they follow. We use it because we would otherwise be guessing at whether this website is any use to the people who arrive on it.

It was chosen specifically because of what it does not do:

• It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, nothing is written, and nothing already there is read.
• It assigns you no identifier. It cannot recognise you on a later visit, and it cannot follow you to any other website.
• It stores no personal data. Your IP address and browser are used momentarily to work out whether a request is a new visitor, then discarded; neither is retained or logged.
• Everything we can see is a count: how many people did something, never who. There is no way for us to look up an individual visit.
• The data is processed on servers in the EU, and is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for advertising of any kind.

Why There Is No Cookie Banner

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, your consent is required before a site stores information on your device or reads information already stored there. Our analytics does neither, and we set no non-essential cookies of our own, so there is nothing here for you to consent to. We would rather not ask you to dismiss a banner that exists only for the sake of appearing careful.

If that ever changes, if we adopt a tool that does store something on your device, a consent gate goes in first, and this page changes with it.

Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or delete certain cookies. However, please note that if you block or delete cookies, some features of our website may not function properly.

Third-Party Services

Calendly is the only third party that can set a cookie on this site, and only once you open the booking widget. It processes the name, email address and any notes you enter when booking, under its own privacy policy. Plausible Analytics receives a request from your browser on each page you view, but sets no cookie and retains no personal data. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any advertising or retargeting service.
